I went to the salvage yard on Saturday. Got something for a neighbor but didn't find anything for myself.

I also removed the frame crossmember that I bent up. I was going to give it to a neighbor to take someplace to get straightened but he backed down. So I need to find someone to fix it for me and reinforce so it can be a lift point. The bolts I cleaned in the sonic cleaner and now it is in the vibrating tumbler being polished.

Since I am still waiting for the fuel line from inline tube I polished the metal ring that the filler neck attaches to. It started to rust from where I cleaned it before. I am hoping the polish will help protect it from rusting some.

Documentation>vacuum systems>vacuum systems.

It doesn't make that much sense to me.
I'd think to look under Emissions for a Rosetta Stone.
Maybe Gary can add a hyperlink when he gets back?
Is that where you want to see it or where you saw it? I can't seem to find any vacuum systems under documentation. Do you have a direct link you can copy and paste?

Vacuum systems are in the EVTM's - Electrical & Vacuum Troubleshooting Manuals.

But there are also pages on vacuum systems at Documentation/Underhood/Vacuum Systems, meaning click on Vacuum Systems.  And then below that page there are other pages.

Sorry, underhood, vacuum systems, vacuum diagrams....
I can't do that drill down on my phone because of clicks vs mouse cursor.

I wonder if it goes here using a rubber line coupler?  Just found this one with nothing attached.

Dang I'm not even sure what that photo is - good job getting a tight photo.

But I can't make out what it is or where it is. Is that even a vacuum fitting?  Sorry I can't help more with that.

To me it looks like a sending unit of some sort that's missing the electrical plug on top.  I might be showing my ignorance there.

Thank you, I just ordered the book today on eBay. It was not included in my e-manuals.

Sorry I didn't specify because we were talking about the carb connections.  But that picture is from under the carb.

My neighbor went to his girlfriends families shop. They told him they can straighten it out by using the tire machine. I am guessing the bead breaker function of the machine? What are your thoughts on using a tire machine to fix it? Or should I find a shop with a press?

I would personally be hesitant to use the tire machine, but I've never used one.  So maybe they know what they are doing and can do it.  I'd let them try.

As typical for part orders with this truck the "new" Fumoto Oil Drain valve I ordered from Amazon was used and damaged with oil on it. I ordered the version with no drain nipple but I got one with the nipple and used. I guess the truck is high enough where the nipple won't matter but they don't have anymore available. So I ordered again but the nipple version.

I know some people will have negative things to say about this high quality part but I use Fumoto Oil Drain Valves on all my vehicles with no issues. I enjoy the convenience and have had no leaks or damage during its use for many years.

I applaud the creative use of the tire machine. I wish he took it with him but he wanted to ask about it first. They are far away so need to arrange a time.

Inline Tube shipped another stainless steel fuel line to me yesterday. This will be my third fuel line. First from LMC was way wrong, first from Inline Tube was half wrong. Will it be correct this time? There is probably a .001% chance it will be correct but lets see if third time is the charm.

This shipment includes the following items:

Item # Description Qty
MISCLINE Rework Line 1

Good luck, with both Inline Tube and the tire shop.

Fingers crossed for a successful order.   It's tough to get proper parts sometimes.

It's got flats on the body..... why would you even wrench on the nipple?

Man, it must be frustrating to keep getting the wrong parts!  ðŸ˜

I hope everything works out this time around, Jonathan.
