That big yellow wire carries all of the current to the cab. So I’m not convinced the smaller connector is a good way to go. Let me see what I have in C610 connectors, although it may not be today when I can look.

Don’t worry Gary, Big Bro runs fine, no rush.
I continue to search on my side.

Jim, I verified and the 3G I bought is M8 x 1.25. Question: Why tap it 3/8-16 NC? I have plenty M8 x 1.25 bolts on hand…

Did I not explain that the current bolt is 3/8-16 and the damn crescent adjuster is slotted for 3/8?
What happens when you put a 5/16ish bolt with tiny shoulders into a big slot? How well does to hold in that sloppy hole, and how smoothly does it adjust??? I'm DONE.

Jeff - Look what I found. I think this is exactly what you need. And first I was disappointed that the fuse links where cut, but then I realized that you are going to have to connect this big yellow wire to your big yellow wire before the fuse links, so it isn't a problem.
But that raises the question of how you are going to make that connection. I have the right sized ring tongue connectors so I could crimp one on this wire and send you a matching one so you could bolt them together, but then you'd need a way to crimp it. Can you do that? I'm assuming you don't solder, but if you have a big enough gun that would work even better. The yellow wire is #10 so it will take a lot of heat. But I'll send shrink tubing to cover the joint and make it safe. I can get this out to you on Monday, but we just need to decide what, if any, connectors go with it and how you want the other three wires to be. I'll cut the big yellow one just ahead of the splice to the fuse links, but can send plenty of the other three if you want it.

Jim - Sorry you’re done. I was supposing that a M8 bolt plus a good washer could block the 3G on the crescent slider.
Gary - This looks exactly what I need! I have everything needed to crimp, solder, heat shrink, waterproof link, etc. Just leave the longer wires as possible, I’ll do the rest.

You got it, Jeff. I'll cut the big yellow wire at the fuse links and give you plenty of the other wires. I'm sure I have your address from the last round.

Jeff - It is on its way. And, by the way, here's a revised drawing from Will's thread called Alternator Upgrade Related Questions (was One-Wire Alternator Questions). He pointed out the lack of the w/bk wire wrapping from the 3-wire connector to the stator lug, so I changed that. And he asked about the big yellow wire going to the starter relay or the megafuse, so I show it can go either place.
Does that make sense?

Wow, thanks so much Sir. Can’t wait to rebuild Big Brother’s C610! Plug’n play is quite difficult when the plug is gone… Yep, absolutely!

Went to visit one of my sons this weekend (360 miles from here), Big Bro drove like a champ.
When we came back home (01:00 AM), your harness was at the door, Gary. So, I think the last piece I need is the Ammeter transformed in Voltmeter, and then I’ll proceed to 3G swap. Meanwhile, I’ll rebuild the C610 connector, using your harness.

Good! Good that you got to go visit, good that Big Bro drove well, and good that you got the package.
Now let's hope you get the ammeter soon.

Bob/Rocketman emailed me, he plans to ship by the end of this week, beginning of next.
Since the carriers aren’t really fast between USA and here I am expecting to receive the «am-voltmeter» around mid-June. So, I’ll probably keep the 3G swap as a summer vacation hobby, 3rd of July.

I’ve heard the carriers are a bit slow twixt here and there. But at least you got an answer from him. I haven’t yet on the change in polarity, so you may need to swap the two wires in the connector.

Talking about language barrier…
I read and translate it in two ways: 1- Two birthdays that occur two dates very “near” on the calendar. 2- A birthday that is a holiday where all commerces and institutions close. Don’t laugh. It’s my case. I have a birthday that close(s). (Ok, there’s a missing “s”, but who cares about a missing “s”?). First of July is the National Day here.

It was dafynition #1- Two birthdays that occur two dates very “near” on the calendar. Bill turned 78 on the 12th and his son, Matt, had a birthday yesterday, the 23rd.
As for #2, your birthday is July 1st? And the whole of Canada celebrates it? Cool! And we don't seem to be worried about "s". It comes and goes w/o concern.
