People look for the other smog parts but I haven't seen many requests for the manifolds themselves. Never know - might be a market for the nests

Don't you have to fully remove the battery tray(s) to get the fender liner out?
And of course the module and it's associated wiring. I went back with stainless steel screws and finish washers on the fender lip, and the bolt and fender washers up from behind. It's nice to have an actual Phillips or bolt head left if there is ever a next time. That console is a goldmine of bits and bobs for a tinkerer.

Yep - the battery tray is the most involved item that is tied to the liner but even it isn't bad unless rusted in place. Also, not unusual for the bolts that hold the module to snap off so I'd spray everything down and give it time to soak in before going at it.

An ambulance would have trays on both sides, like a diesel, no...?
When was the last time a tray wasn't completely rusted from acid?????

I would bet on it being a dual battery setup. The factory aux bracket doesn't tie into the drivers side fender liner but can't say for sure that's the case in an ambulance.
I didn't say the parts removed would be in good shape, I just said it doesn't take a lot to remove the liners

I hadn't although google tells me:
"These nests are actually made out of bird saliva, which has dried and hardened. That's right; when you're eating a bowl of bird's nest soup, you're having a bowl of spit (and other ingredients)." and "resulting in a single bowl of soup that will set you back anywhere from $30 to $100" Learn something new (and something to be avoided ) everyday.

What about this, Scott? Black Ivory Coffee is a brand of coffee produced by the Black Ivory Coffee Company Ltd in northern Thailand from Arabica coffee beans consumed by elephants and collected from their waste. The taste of Black Ivory coffee is influenced by elephants' digestive enzymes, which breaks down the coffee's protein. There's coffee from civet cat stool too, but since these felines have been indicated as the source of other epidemics popularity has dropped off.
Yes, I've tried it. No I wasn't particularly impressed.

That's a new one also (had heard similar about some jungle cats awhile back).
I would say I have a never-before-realized stance against anything that has its taste enhanced by an animals saliva or digestive enzymes but I guess you can't knock it 'til you try it.

Scott, I think he is talking about the stainless steel thermactor 'spiders' that attach to the manifolds.
Which reminds me, I promised to go get the bag with the remaining two (of 10) plugs, to find the NAPA number...

Sounds about right for something that comes from 'that'. JW - if you get a chance, add a photo of the front of that console. I think both Jim and I would enjoy seeing it.

Mouse nest tea? You can steep that urine soaked wad of nesting material for a delicious and invigorating afternoon pick-me-up!

Yep, no stranger to those spider legs. They can be a real bear to get out with the engine still in the truck. I never tried to plug mine as I went to headers but having that part number for the plugs will be handy. I added the part about the back of the heads since that typically follows in the de-smogging process

Just took a look. There is an adapter into exhaust... then the spider has a threaded connection into that. All look really rusty. The back ones look pretty well concealed.
A least a line wrench.. and pb blaster... maybe Cut em off and a deep dish socket... depends if i can Get em off without too much trauma. Here are a few pics of the console

I used an oxy/acetylene torch and a crows foot line wrench on enough extension to reach them.
They all came out leaving clean threads (clean enough to plug) Let me go see if I can find that bag.
