Clip came off circuit strip/sheet



4-40 allen head screw is a good fit



head needs to be ground smaller so it will snap onto regulator



I used a pice of scrap copper, not sure about reaction of a cad plated washer.

Good thinking!    That could really help someone out.  Those clips are really hard to solder to, so the screw probably makes a very good contact w/o heating up the printed circuit and potentially damaging it.

Good fix.

Another option would be to peen the old brass backer on (if it's salvageable), or a replacement (if you can find/make one).  A pop-rivet might even be workable, if you can get a tiny one that doesn't spread much.

Yet another option is to swap to the older-style ICVR with spade lugs, or aftermarket with threaded studs; eliminating those snaps.

Or, use a real voltage regulator and solder its wires onto the circuit.

Cat in the hat (LOL) yep, that's me. Jeff is my 2nd cousin but, he calls me uncle Bill, I did a few with Jeff a while back, did head rebuild on 351C in the red wagon, if you search back there are a few on Jeff's 72 F100, body repair, interior repair/install, etc. lots of good informative stuff. We have both been motorheads forever, him a Mustang nut, me ...anything with wheels that will go uuuudddnnnnn.
