I just tried to book a block of rooms at the only hotel in Skiatook, the Osage Casino. Turns out that there are no rooms available for Friday night, Sept 13th, and only two for Saturday night, Sept 14th.
So y'all either have to stay some place else like Owasso, which has a number of hotels and is only 18 miles/26 minutes away. Or we change the dates. I'm going to tag Larry & Vivek as they both have asked what the date is to be. But I would like to hear from all of you that might be coming. And I need responses quickly, please.

My first choice is (and is always) labor day weekend because that buys me an extra day off to do things with. But otherwise, the only September weekend that's possibly bad is the 21st (but even then, per current department rules, I can still take it off since only one of us is out then). Guess everybody BBQ'd their vacation time the last two months!
That said, after last year, I don't think I'm staying at the Casino again... wasn't worth the price of admission IMHO. But that's me being a cheapskate who values having a microwave for leftovers over short distances (I don't gamble, so being in a casino doesn't do much for me).

Ok, so you are fine staying elsewhere and keeping the 14th? I could see about getting a block of rooms in Owasso if we want to keep the 14th.

We will be staying in Owasso (due to rewards/cost) so the Casino doesn't impact us. As for the date, I am always for pushing it later solely for the heat. But weather is a gamble no matter what

Thanks, Scott.
Heat? I sat outside the church building this morning waiting on an A/C repairman and at 8:30 it was 70F with a breeze from the north. It was actually COLD!

I'm perfectly fine as to whenever and whatever is the easiest for the group. Hopefully it's really nice weather like last year.

Yep. Hopefully we have seen the last of the really hot days.
Yesterday was the hottest of the year in Tulsa, 102F. But the humidity was way down so the feel-like was basically the same as the temp. We've seen a feel-like of 114F several times this year, and yesterday wasn't like that at all.

I'm pretty flexible on accommodations.... Worst case spend the night in the bench seat Be like the good old days of sleeping without air conditioning...
OK later in the year as well.. but not on Labor day. Have other work related travel plans. Current plan i.e. 14th works

Ok folks, let's stick with the 13th for the dinner at the 14th for the show. Many of you are going to stay in Owasso anyway, so the lack of rooms at the casino isn't a big deal.
Thanks for the replies and will see you soon! More to come soonest.
