Now you guys have piqued my interest. What is this high output heater of which you speak? I have it in my truck I never noticed it as being unique. Was this an upgrade? If so it sounds like my original owner chose to upgrade heat over selecting air-conditioning.
And in the Pacific Northwest no less which has mild winters. To each his own I suppose!

My old F150 was from Southern California and was ordered/built brand new without A/C. I highly doubt the heater was ever used in it. lol.

I guess it would be considered an upgrade, yes. It's just a slightly different heater housing to accept a slightly wider heater core. If you see above, it's 7.5" wide instead of the standard 6" heater core. My 1984 just has the standard heater.

A guy told me last week about a junkyard not all that far away that I had not visited, so I dropped by today and found this old relic below. I know Reamer has mentioned it before, but there sure are a lot of old Flaresides rotting in the woods around here...
Not much there worthy of the time to pull it. Tailgate might be salvageable, not sure. The rest of the steel is rotten. 300/6 is still intact...and it does have one of those carb spacers Jon was looking for. I'll drop back by one day and grab it. I only had time to look around today.

Walked by another old relic at the junkyard today. Not a truck mind you, but I'm always lifting the hoods of other old Fords looking for random SBF stuff. This one a 1991 Crown Vic with 5.0 EFI. Nothing there for me really, but the factory serpentine belt system caught my eye. The water pump is running in the CW rotation (unlike the same engine in a truck at the time). Alternator and AC pump are on opposite sides from a truck too. It would work, but not really worth the trouble imho.

Did not realize that there were 5.0L water pumps on serpentine systems that rotate both CCW and CW. Confusing.

Actually, the 1990-1991 5.0L in the big cars was like the 460, polygroove belts, not a true serpentine setup.

That's the way my 1990 Town Car is. It uses two belts unlike a true serpentine style.

1991 was the last year for the old boxy Crown Vic wasn't it? Was it the last year for the 5.0 as well? Right, not a true serpentine system. It does have two belts. I wouldn't mind having a serpentine system on my old 302, if there was an easy way to do it. Not that there's anything wrong with the V-belts.

Just got word via FB that this little peach arrived at the local Pick-N-Pull this afternoon. Fairly well intact too. Too bad I don't need anything from it...lol. I might go grab that padded steering wheel. '86 w/302 EFI and Auto trans. Interior looks really nice compared to how most of them arrive at the junkyards around here.

Man, there's lots of good stuff there. Is that a tilt column? Grille? Bumper(s). Headlight doors. Bucket seats or captain's chairs? And on and on and on!

I know, right? I have an overwhelming urge to do so...lol, but must hold back because I have parts now that I don't need;). Gary, are those high back bucket seats factory? There's a switch/lever on the seat down on the bottom...

Captain's chairs were an option on the Supercabs and Broncos. 1985's Rapid Spec price sheet says:
Captain's chairs — cloth wholesale $415.49 suggested retail $491.70

The factory captain chairs are really comfortable and the arm rests are great.
Both driver and passenger have the lever on the side that tilts the back. The passenger side has a lever on the opposite side that launches the seat forward for rear seat access. The drivers side has a lever on the front that slides the seat forward/backwards.

I have a pair of those as well as a console, although a different console than would be with those, all upholstered to go in Dad's truck. And I have the base from the 90's trucks that bolts into the regular cab trucks. Further, I've reworked the tracks for the seats to bolt into the base such that the whole package is a bolt-in - although the seat backs may hit the rear window so some shimming may be required to adjust the angle.
All of that is written up verbosely back on FTE and there are links in my Dad's Truck Build document in the first post of that thread. But I've thought seriously of installing them in Big Blue if we are going to take him on long trips and/or off-roading. The comfort of the seats would be welcome on the trips, and the arm rests might be really appreciated to hold onto. And while they are very much the wrong color, if I like them well enough I might get another pair and put them in blue.

Scott, ha! Launch is a good term for the seat going forward!
My pass. seat was wobbling around making noise and in general being annoying. I put some large area washers under the worn and hard rubber bushings. Took care of it. Now I need to find a suitable sub, couldn’t find any with part numbers available. The seats are comfy!
