Introduction: 1980 F150

bbeaven20

Hey guys new to the forum but not new to owning my 1980 F150.  I bought it just about two years ago from a gentleman in New Hampshire.  It’s a 1980 Flareside with a 429 out of a 69 Ford.  Previous owner had also installed headers, a C6 and a posi rear ended.  The truck started life as a 300 Straight six with a 4 speed.  It’s in good shape as is, but I’ve been picking away at it to get it in even better condition.  It’s pretty much a truck that is only driven in good weather as the salt and sand up in New Englandwould destroy it.  In my neck of the woods 1980-86 Bullnose Flaresides are very rare and it gets a lot of attention at the local cruise nights and car shows.

I own a couple of other antique fords as well such as a 1964 Galaxie Hardtop Fastback and a 1955 Ford Customline.  I have previously owned a 64 TBird as well but I really enjoy the 80 Bullnose.  I’d definitely love to continue learning more about these trucks as I continue to work on mine.  I’m also a member of the Bullnose Flareside forum on Facebook.

Welcome!  Glad you joined.

You may need to read in the Bullnose Forum/Forum FAQ's about posting pics as this forum, like many forums, doesn't read the camera orientation info in the picture's metadata, so you have to orient the pic before uploading.

Anyway, sounds like a very nice truck.  And, the others are nice as well.

Welcome, fellow Flareside enthusiast!
How did you get around the DMV with that motor/chassis combination? I swapped a ‘69 small block Chevy engine into a 1975 CJ-5 in Virginia and wasn’t able to get it through inspection since it didn’t meet the standards for the body year, That was twenty years ago. Can’t imagine things have gotten easier.

Welcome aboard! Speaking of New Hampshire, did you happen to catch the news blooper making the rounds this week where the girl reporter from Boston slipped back into her old accent and said "New Hampsha" haha. It's cute.

I'm a big Flareside fan and have had three of them. Can wait to see and hear more about it.

They didn't age well in the rust belt, so the few that are still around get lots of attention!
