That one needs quite a bit of TLC, but looks to be a solid foundation. Would prefer a 351W, but it's a good driver as is. Just wouldn't want to tow much with a 302.

To be quite honest, I have towed quite a bit with my 5.0 and AOD. I even brought my 73 Rivera From northern Cali to AZ on a trailer. I will grant you it was no barn burner in the mountains. Just pull it down into drive and let her eat.

The 302 is definitely capable of towing differing size loads, but it's a stretch from being great at larger loads like other vehicles, and that's my own personal experience with them.

I like it. Notice the 9” rear end. It’s odd how it showed up in some of the later trucks, but a 302 and 4spd was guaranteed to have a 9”. The same truck with an AOD would have an 8.8 rear end.
