I like this truck a lot, and that is not a bad price considering the value of those engines and conversion parts to put them in a Ford. That being said, I think a full 30 mpg is a little optimistic. Perhaps not in a 1/2 ton 2wd platform but I’ve followed a few 4BT builds and hear that mid 20’s is a more realistic expectation... at least on a repeatable basis.
My crew cab is being built up to tow our Streamline, and is biased towards performance rather than efficiency. After that truck is finished, I want to work on building either a Bronco or a flareside that is tuned for mpg. The number 30 is a nice goal, maybe I can prove myself wrong...
