headway on 1985 2wd shortbed

been awhile since I got a chance to work on my 85. picked up a 83 shortbed from WV to use the bed off of it. I have to fix the rust in the panels but it starting to look like a truck again!!

Joe from NJ. 1985 F150 shortbed with 4.9 and its a stick. Put some Black FR500's on it. 17X9 upfront and 17X10.5 in the back.

So what happened to the Flareside bed? Scrap other than the fiberglass fenders?

flare bed was in a really bad shape. none of the metal was worth keeping. I tried to repair some of it but it was not worth money and time.

Did you get on the fuel and brake lines while you had the bed off?

Lil'Red is a '87 F250 HD, 4.10's, 1356 4x4, Zf-5, 3G, PMGR, Saginaw PS, desmogged with a Holley 80508 and Performer intake.
Too much other stuff to mention.

yes. all the fuel and brake lines r all done. I just have to power wash and sand down the frame and paint it. i'll do that when the bed comes back off for repairs to the panels.

Yes. It’s staying yellow to save money and time. Easier to keep it yellow. And it has been growing on me too lol
