Folks - I've gotten feedback that having the show on Labor Day weekend isn't good. People say it kills a holiday weekend an that means they can't come.
So I'm wanting your input on what weekend in September would be best. Please vote.

Labor day for me is good. Gives an extra travel day on the way home and at least this year allows for an extended trip to see some inlaws in Kansas.
But I could see why some people would have an issue... I had a family reunion come up that I declined this year (my mom told me the show's more important, if you'd believe it!). Edit- another arguement against labor day weekend would be the lodging cost/availability...

Personally I would prefer the second weekend after Labor Day, simply because Labor Day weekend is usually the closest weekend to my wife’s birthday and I often have other plans. That is not generally helpful for any other members, but explains why I voted the way I did.

Count me in for a non-Labor Day Weekend show. I picked the weekend after, but really any weekend that isn't Labor Day would be good. I've always had to choose between DragonCon and family time at the lake that weekend, but it's even harder with the show that weekend as well.

Can't really say if it was due to the holiday weekend or just more visibility of Gary's posts but hard to argue with the turnout this year.
We need to get some more input and if 'when' the weekend is makes a difference in forum member attendance. If you attended this year, plan to attend next year, or had full intention to attend this year but the weekend was the issue, please vote above. No harm in joining in the discussion but if you aren't able to make it no matter the weekend, please refrain from voting for obvious reasons

Earlier this year I had requested last Thursday and Friday off so I could have a five-day weekend for Labor Day. I originally planned on attempting to finally make the show (likely no truck, but in person), but I realized that the local rodeo I usually volunteer with was the same weekend, and so that killed my ability to attend. If it were in the following weekends after, I would more than likely be able to swing it. I voted for two weeks after just because I would prefer to recover from Labor Day weekend by having the following weekend to prepare for the trip since I would be tied up with the Rodeo Labor Day weekend. But again, that's just my preference and not necessarily a trip killer.

Please keep the voting and comments going, folks.
Very valid point about lodging. The Skiatook Casino was really expensive over the holiday this year! Any other weekend would be less expensive. As for two weeks after Labor Day, that's getting very close to when we like to travel. In fact, we leave on the 16th this year so the 2nd weekend wouldn't work. And according the all the pictures Facebook has been dredging up, our trips over the last several years have been at roughly this same time.

In the past, Chris TuButis had concerns as the date gets closer to October due to foggy conditions in the Denver area.

Sorry to jack your poll Gary but why not some weekend before Labor day?

David - You are right, late Sept didn't work well for Chris.
John - We could go one week before Labor Day, but the earlier we go the warmer it is likely to be. As it was, Saturday was in the mid-90's and there didn't seem to be a cloud in the sky. Full sunshine made it warm, but a month earlier it would have been 105ish - right? And while that may not seem like much, over 100 gets dangerous. Still, we could do that if that's what everyone wants to do. I'll see if I can edit the first post with the poll... EDIT: Nope. Doesn't look like I can edit a poll. All I can do is remove it.

Yeah, I think we should add in the option for one week before Labor Day. Ultimately, it's more about those that will have to travel though. I don't consider my trip traveling, really.

I can do that but everyone will have to re-vote. Ok?

My 2 cents, a week or so earlier would be better for me. We normally start harvest around the 1st of September. So any thing later I would not be able to attend. Like I said just my 2cents, it should be what’s best for the most of members.

That asphalt definitely gets hot so that'd be my concern with going earlier also. With the gym there it does provide a place for people to go though.

Ok folks, since I cannot edit the poll I've started a new thread called Round Two: When Should The Truck Show Be In 2023? Please go there and vote - again. And explanations help us understand.
