You will need to pull the rear prop shaft yoke or flange depending on how your truck is equipped.
That nut is pretty torqued on there, and I can't really recommend using an impact gun.
In a 1345 I do believe you only need to remove the seal to get the drive gear off.
It's not like the -56 where there is a collar/clip and a retaining ball that needs to come out.
Gary mentioned the other day that his newly rebuilt 1345 is leaking through the splines, so you probably want to use some sealant there.
