Rare bullnose color 1980 F150

I haven’t come across this color combo before

If I’m not mistaken it looks like Pastel or Bright yellow with Wimbledon white

I don't know about that color combo, but my 1980 F150 was a tu-tone truck and the center section on each side was that same "Pastel Sand" color, although mine was pretty faded and looks white in most photos.

Might be a better photo

Love that pastel color!!

If automakers would bring back these old tu-tone jobs, that might even entice me into buying a new one

I've seen some of the newer trucks painted up this way, and I'm not sure it gives off the same vibes sadly.

I do agree the tu-tone jobs I have seen online don't look good but they haven't been attempted by Ford... and often the ones i've seen lack pinstriping or other trim accents

The closest Ford I think has come to the original is with the Heritage edition Bronco
https://fordauthority.com/2024/05/ford-bronco-heritage-limited-edition-dead-after-2024/

You can't get these pastel colors unless you buy the heritage limited edition which is ridiculously priced. To me, a F-series truck in this color with the proper pinstriping would look fantastic, and in my layman's eyes there is good business opportunity that Ford is not capitalizing on (just offer that color with a reasonable mark-up -- like $995)

"You can have any colour you like, as long as it's black". (Henry Ford)

3M started their whole abrasives empire because automobiles were painted with a brush back then.
They got into masking tape (and therefore adhesives) when tu-tone came on offer.

I agree with keeping things simple.... does seem like a good business strategy.

Look at GM --- same truck offered in GMC, Chevy, Cadillac

Ford offered the same truck as a Mercury in Canada, and let's not forget the Lincoln Blackwood & LT...

Then there was the Aviator & Mountaineer.

Is it really that different???

I was strictly talking about today... but I did leave out Lincoln. Looks like Expedition is Navigator ?? I don't see many on the road... anyway all these brand gimmicks. I wish they would put more energy into 1 brand.

Yeah, Mercury is dead.
Victim of being squeezed from both directions, and the end of BoF land yachts.

Lincoln doesn't have anything unique like Cadillac, just rebranded Fords with other facias.

When you see what Ford gets for a loaded Platinum you understand that there's not much room above $110k for a Lincoln branded P/I.

You guys left out Ford's time with Mazda in the 90s.

Mazda B2300, B2500, B3000, B4000 = Ford Ranger
Mazda Navajo = Ford Explorer
