I'll bet there are some that would like the Banks turbo unit.

Unfortunately the early Banks and early ATS kits are pretty marginal. Certainly better than no turbo, but such kits by themselves are not worth much more than $300-$400. The price would be reasonable if it were running, but it's not. Sometimes you can get a deal on a non runner because the guy had glow plug issues and air intrusion issues, and killed the batteries and starter trying to start it, gave up on it and just wants it gone. But it could just as easily be a snake bag. He could have tried to start it with ether without disconnecting the glow plugs and done real damage, or could be covering up a laundry list of other expensive problems. As it sits that's a $500 truck if you're feeling adventurous. $1500 if he'd let you bring a starter and get it to run.

That's what I was thinking on the turbo.

Also on the starter. Figured you could repair the glow plug system, did that on my 1988. Didn't think about ether! That could be a problem.

It's pretty straight (in the photos anyway), should be rust free if it's spent it's life around here and 4WD. I've seen ratted out 4WD's go for the "standard" $3500 here.

A neighbor was asking $2000 for the Bronco I have when gas prices were high, with a cold start problem. I jumped on it. Ended up being the coil.

You can get some deals for sure if you are savvy with minor problems. But diesels can get expensive fast. It is the same in my area, 4x4's are pretty hot items but they have to run. Diesel 4x4's *very hot items, but you would have to walk into it expecting the worst...
