Map Pockets for 84 XL F150

Morning All,

I've been scouring eBay and I've been coming up short.  I know there are some eBay wizards here that seem to find great stuff.

I've been looking for map pockets for my F150 (they were removed and discarded by the PO, but they were there originally).  Problem is, they don't look like any I've seen for sale.  The originals were hard plastic with no carpeting, and fairly wide as well.

These on LMC are the closest, but the original ones were one big compartment or very close - there were no partitions that I can recall.

Does this ring a bell for anyone, or am I remembering things incorrectly?  Thanks!

I agree - those on LMC aren't quite right as the originals had no partition.  However, they were prone to breaking when you let the door hit your foot or leg, so it may be that the partition is really just a brace to prevent breaking.

But, if you find a set of the originals you can glue a piece of steel just inside the lip and it greatly strengthens the plastic.

I did a post of the replacement pockets Although not from LMC, it may well be the same product.  

I strengthened the back and lip with steel rod and aluminium flat-stock with construction glue.  Along with a piece under the partition, it's held up to 6 months of 11 year old careless feet with friends on morning school drop-off's.  It would have been nice to find some with the solid back like the originals, but these are adequate for the role.

Thanks to you both!  Glad to know that I wasn't mistaken - sounds like I'll live with the ones from LMC.

I really wish I hadn't thrown the originals out (this was back in 1999 when I was eighteen and dumber than I am now, haha)

Listed is a pair of red door panels with the map pockets included in the photos. The listing is for 1980 - 1986 F150, Bronco, etc. and XLT. The panels do not have the slide locks, so most likely late 1981 - 1984, based on the fact that they are the older style woodgrain. They do have the chrome trim.

You would have to purchase the whole package in order to obtain the map pockets.

Based on the price of the 2nd listing, you might as well purchase the 1st listing and get the door panels and woodgrain insets for free!

They are spendy.
