If you're lucky like I was, you won't need the key. The ignition key from my old F150 opened the lock on the handle that I pulled from an 82 F250.

And the locking hood latch that Kyle sent me worked with Dad's ignition key.  I wonder if the hood latches have a more generic lock that only uses a few of the tumblers?

It's possible. But the one I bought for my F350 doesn't work with either my brand new tumbler key or my original 1990 key.

I’ll add that only my door lock works on my hood lock. Ignition key does not. I assume Original to my truck lock and keys.

I saw somewhere someone saying something like you can use one side of your key for doors/glove/hood lock and the other for ignition. Has anyone done this? How is this possible when the key blank profiles are mirror opposites.
