I expect the difference may be the mounting points for the visor clips by the rear view mirror? The shipping price of $200 makes this a fairly spendy piece...

Interesting. It appears they made a change in '87, and I'll bet Jonathan is right about the recess for the clips. But apparently they made another change in '96, hence the F6? That's strange if it was only used one year. Why go to all the trouble?
