I have been meaning to post something here since I joined the forum. We purchased my truck last August from the original owner. It was one of his farm trucks and has 139k miles on it. She has been painted recently and the colors seem close to original. She has some minor rust (hood, doors, floor pans) and some major rust around the inside edges of the bed. Her tailgate rusted out and was replaced with a 5th wheel gate. her original rear bumper was replaced with a monster piece of steel.
My husband and I have tackled a few larger projects so far. First, I got a used carburetor and rebuilt it -- the one it came with was a junk refurb that as undersized. We also replaced the harmonic balancer. We upgraded the steering -- new lower column, new lower bearing, new gear box and a Lee power steering pump. We have rebuilt the rear brakes, replaced the inner and outer rear hub bearings, and replaced the emergency brakes.
We are currently working on a new alternator and replacing the factory ignition wiring.
This week we installed nerf bars. Here are before and after pictures:
