Heater Control Cable

Took apart my dash assembly this weekend to get to the blend door, which of course was broken. Noted that the temperature blend door cable was very stiff and likely cause for the damage that occurred to my HVAC control unit. I've run some lubrication through the cable and while it is better, still seems a bit stiff to me. Any idea how that cable should run through it's plastic sheath? What would you use to free it and lubricate it?

I have a motorcycle/bicycle cable luber from Cablelife.

It's just a little block of anodized aluminum with a seal that clamps over the end of the sheath, and uses the aerosol pressure to push the lube through.

I think you can get the kit for around $17 on Amazon.
I've had mine since the early '80's

Yep, I probably have one of those tucked away somewhere.  Used them when riding bikes.  They work nicely.
