Headliner question

Waylon109
My 81 F100 is a pretty base truck that didn’t come with a headliner. I want one in there to cover up some sound deadener I plan to put on the roof.  My question is whether the headliner trim from the 73-79 F100’s-F150’s could be adapted to suit my needs and I can fab one up (upholstery is a skill I learned as a furniture repair guy).  I’m fine with not the whole roof being covered, as long as I can get some sound deadener up top to kill some road noise. It’s going everywhere else in the cab too when I get to working the interior.

I don't know how close the roof of the cabs are between 79 and the Bullnose trucks.  Maybe someone else does?
