If you're going to buy reman, why not buy a reman Explorer engine?

Yeah, you will need to buy accessories, but you would likely not reuse a water pump, distributor or xxx anyhow.

I don't know how much a timing case is for one of those things.
Mine is $70-90.

Lil'Red is a '87 F250 HD, 4.10's, 1356 4x4, Zf-5, 3G, PMGR, Saginaw PS, desmogged with a Holley 80508 and Performer intake.
Too much other stuff to mention.

+1 on that. They’ll have better heads and roller cam I believe. Good torque with those stock cams too👌🏻
