Hi all,
I've been working on my newly acquired truck and am busy undoing all the wrong the previous owners have done to it. I have the hot fuel option 460 and just finished bending and flaring some new lines for the fuel separator that head down the block. I'm improvising my own mounting since all the factory mounting hardware is missing. What I would like to know is where the soft lines route between the hard lines on the engine and the hard lines on the frame. I would also like to know where the hard lines on the frame are secured. My frame hard lines are just loose and flopping around. If someone has pictures of the area it would be great. Currently I have sliced some rubber fuel line lengthwise and put it around each hard line and synched them together with a metal zip tie since it's so close to the manifold. Thanks! I'll grab a photo tomorrow unless someone beats me to it.
There is a plastic clip on top of the frame to hold them although most I've seen aren't held well by them any longer. They remain in place held by the rubber lines and the clips on the inside of the frame further back. If you're improvising, then one thing that comes to mind to replace the plastic clip would be those metal clamps on the older style metal electrical boxes. Protect it with some hose like you are doing already. If you need the clamp that goes on the fuel pump block off plate, let me know.

Scott has a good idea. I usually end up using rubber lined stainless P-clamps for stuff like that, but they can be frustrating when you're trying to get a bolt through them back to back. Having a stud makes it a lot easier. Are you having trouble inserting images? We have an FAQ for that.

I've used one rubber P clamp so far, but haven't found a lot of places to put them on the side of the block.
I posted from my phone, not sure why the photos messed up, I used the attach feature (paperclip) and chose them off my phone.

Thanks! I'll check that out! Want to get these lines squared away before I put the new power steering pump in.

Scott* suggested the mechanical fuel pump block off plate on the side of the timing case.
I guess he has a clamp to offer? I suggested putting a stud into the plate, to make it easier to get everything into place. Yeah, you're attaching the photo files but not wrapping them in the tags that get that image to display. That's why you use the 'insert image' tab above the reply window. (Or keyboard in the tags, if you're using a computer and have them branded into muscle memory) Anyway, it's in the FAQ's under 'Bullnose Forum' at the top of every page.

Yeah, not sure what happened. I had the forum open in the browser on my phone and used the attach function same as I would have on a PC. I know the factory spot is off the fuel plate block off, I have to find a P clamp that will fit the fuel lines and the bolt for the block off. Thanks! Here you can see the clip. It's a single line clip that is the same used on my mechanical pump 460 and 400.
Here is the routing. Once you get the two hardlines in place, the routing presents itself really. You can see I ziptied mine also. I have a few items on my jy list so can look for a block off plate/bracket if you want.

Thanks! Those are exactly what I was looking for. A P clamp will work nicely at that spot.
I wouldn't worry about looking for a bracket, a picture would be nice so I can try and make something. Thanks!

Let me know if you need more. The block off plate has an aligning pin on it (why there is a small hole).

Success!!
I had to bend a new 3/8" fuel line since I kinked my first one, and I need to find some sae hardware to attach the P clamp to the frame, but at least this section is done. I still have to reroute the ignition wires, they're a jumble. I suspect the PO bought a set that is too long based on the excess wire. I also have to tighten the compression fittings on the vapor separator. Then I can get back to what started all this.. Replacing the power steering pump.

I like that bracket and attaching the line to the coil bracket looks good.
Previously I added a photo from my 86 showing the frame clamp as being a single. This seemed odd so when at the jy this weekend I looked at another 460. It had a dual line clamp as seen below. Not sure if mine came with a single or was changed out by a PO. Just wanted to add this for accuracy.

Thanks! I with there were bullnose in the pic and pull around me, it's all 87 and up from what I've seen. I think the P clamp will be sufficient once I find some hardware to secure it with. I'm also going to wrap the fuel lines in some sort of heat shield. As it stands there's only about 3" between them and the manifold and that makes me a little uncomfortable.

Jim put me onto this stuff to shield lines with. I have some of it right next to a header and it is doing fine.
