Hi everyone,
After working through a bunch of issues with my truck over the past year or so, I was FINALLY able to take her out for a drive this weekend (not just a test-run). I know that might not sound like a big deal to many, but I've had a really hard time finding some good mechanics to help me tackle the jobs that I'm not able to handle myself (largely due to time constraints &/or just not having the space to do the work).
I've also found it interesting that many young(er) mechanics in my area just don't know how to work on these older trucks, and it's even harder finding the older mechanics who can, as they often don't advertise online or offline - seeming to prefer to get work via word-of-mouth &/or referrals from other, local shops.
While my truck still has a rear main seal issue that needs to be dealt with - along with some other bugs that I'm trying to iron out - just being able to head down to my local Home Depot to pick up some building materials and run some errands reminded me of why I like the truck so much and how practical it is.
People still like to talk to me about the truck in parking lots and gas stations, & I've noticed that other, newer trucks like to park near mine when there are other spaces closer to the store, which I think is cool.
Well, just wanted to share this short, feel-good story. Thanks for reading!
