Absolutely.
We haven’t finalized our 2022 budget yet, but wifey and I have agreed we need to cut back on spending and identify our projects up front. So not sure when i will get to the driveline.. i feel i need a shop first!

You will LOVE a shop. And if you are seriously considering building one I recommend a 12' ceiling. That will allow a full-height lift, and if you get one you'll wonder how you got buy w/o it.

Indeed. I think next yeah will be the prep for a shop. Electric, water, plans finalized. Maybe pour a pad or put sticks and roof up… it will have to be done in stages due to cost. I also need a storage shed and that may come first…

There is no such thing as too big or too much light. And outside storage works nicely under a roof, like a carport. And one thing I wish I'd done is to put a back door in so I could get a truck out when another one is on the lift.

On my side, since we have horses, my barn acts as a garage shop... Horses boxes building side is heated, water, tool bench, but this part of the building is not insulated nor heated. So, it forces me to take a break during winter time about mechanics and other truck stuff, no choice other than go enjoy skiing!
For Big Brother storage (and family's canoes rack, and wife's garden tools, so she's happy), I built an extension to the barn (kind of carport) and installed an old used garage door. I had not a big budget. Lighted, but not heated, weather and sun protected, and well ventilated. Hope this will keep Big Brother nice.

THat last photo should be enlarged, printed, and on the wall of man caves. That's a good photo. Everything is perfect.

I picked the best arm rests I had to hand!
This pics are making me jealous! I have a large RV garage attached to my house, that is where the Airstream leaves. At the back of that space is where I park my ATV that I use around the property. Currently it is the snowmobile rebuilding station. It is not big enough for a truck. The previous owner used to park his mini cooper there.. Looks like we need to build a 450sqft storage shed for all our equipment and toys. That will not have power or water. The shop I want to build will be a 2 or 3 bay with a lift. It is a lot of money, even if I do most of it myself. 450sqft is the magic number, no permit needed!

Wow!
Well, even if you sell the Airstream, not enough place for Esperenza, Eunice and Eylza (I hope I am right about the names of your 3 Musketeers). Missing space, big problem!

I think you have your shop, it just has an Air Stream in it! The height looks like it would be great for a lift, and the side-entry door would be very handy.
So, a 450 sq ft building that is 10' wide can be 45' long. And if that is too narrow maybe 11' x 40'? How long is the trailer?

More seriously, when planning a comfortable workspace, do not neglect the width.
People tend to make their shops enough long but too narrow, missing space to circulate along the vehicle (and mirrors), opened doors, etc.

That's why mine is 40' X 40' and since the roof isn't flat 18' high at the highest point. Plenty of light (thanks Gary) and I can heat if needed with an old torpedo heater I was given after the owner thought the spark plug was bad and no replacement to be found. Cleaned it off, reset the gap like my dad taught me to do on our oil furnace and it lights every time.
I use a Tractor Supply barn heater thermostat that goes in series with the cord to cycle it when I'm out there. Lift is planned, If I had the funds recently a shop I know closed and He had a nice twin post that I know will lift Darth, it was the inspection bay lift.

If I had to redo my shop I'd put two doors in the front and put the machine shop across the back. That would allow me to put two vehicles side by side, and one on the lift.
Welcome, Bill. I hope the lighting worked out as planned.

So yes, i do have a space but it is occupied! It is more narrow than i would like for a workshop, it is about 14ft wide and 40ft long.
I want a true dual bay. All car doors open and can walk around. It would be nice to have it deep enough to double as Airstream parking (9ftx28ft). Buy I don’t think i can make that work within the 450sqft permit free parameters. Honestly i just want a concrete slab so i am not rolling around in gravel anymore!!!

Got some primer on. Self etching on the bare metal and sandable on top and everywhere else.
Temp dropped real quickly too so i stopped before before building up as much primer as i wanted. I ran out of blue tape so couldn’t mask as much as i wanted, but there was no wind. Tomorrow i can get out of work early, get more tape and primer and i should be able to mask/sand/prime/sand. That makes Saturday base and clear…

Looking good! Gonna rename her Elyza Dual-ot? (I'd make it Dua-lot but you seem to want the "dual" to be obvious.)
