Yes, I've discussed things with some people who are absolutely SURE that Ford did or didn't do something. Personally I try to stick to the factory documentation as my source, and even then I know there are errors - and have documented plenty of them in my copies of the MPC, FSM, EVTM, etc.
And I also know that statements in Ford's documentation can sometimes be misleading. For instance, the date that slide locks were discontinued. The MPC says they went back to pin locks in March of '81. But we have examples of trucks built in July of '81 that still had slide locks.
So I try to be
somewhat flexible.
