That's a PIPE (MUFFLER INLET), which we would call a y-pipe or exhaust pipe.  But what it fits isn't easily said.  One application is an '82 351W with no cat.

Thanks for the explanation. After your description, I can easily see that it is a "Y" pipe. It looks small in the photo and I thought it might be the EGR piping from the heads of a V8, but I now see that it does not have threaded ends.
