Camper Shell for free...

fr0bert
Seen this on Nextdoor for free pretty close to me...
Think it's worth grabbing?

For free, I'd grab it - assuming it isn't broken.  There have been several times I've wanted one, and the only one I'd want is a fiberglass one, like that one.

Fiberglass is what's pulling me too...I'm not up to speed on shells, he's says it's from an old ford but doesn't know anything else about it. Were these standard dimensions? Or is there a 6ft and 8ft version?

I agree, if you want one, “free is a very good price!”

I’m partial to the aluminum ones after owning both.

Why do you like the aluminum best, Dane?

Weight, if you want to take it on and off.

And for leaks. I had a Century Cap on my 94 F250. Fix one leak and two more pop up. It had lots of little windows.

Bought an aluminum A.R.E. for it, really liked it, but it was short. Cab height, the Century was a little taller.

Although if I bought one for my F250 now it would be a fiberglass A.R.E. with the door on the door.

That would be nice! As I mentioned height, I’ll probably never get one because I can’t get inside very well anymore.

If I do put one on the F250 it’ll be walk in style with a bathroom!

Grumpin - I'm with Scott.  Please get one so we can see how they look on our trucks.

And, thanks for explaining.  I hadn't thought about the weight nor leaks.

It looks like it needs a little cleaning but might be in good shape.

You can get locks and keys online if you have model numbers or lock codes.
