Big3 Upgrade?

Djtorello
I did a forum search, and didn't find what i was looking for, So i guess I'll just ask. Has anyone done a big3 upgrade of these trucks?

I've noticed piss poor quality of the oe wiring, and weird routing as far as i've noticed.

I was checking the documents on the ground cables, and noted the battery ground on my '82 at being either 59 or 64 inches long.. That's crazy.  Now i already changed the battery ground, with a 4gauge wire about 14 inches long, to the chassis, and a battery ground to engine ground point, 2/0 gauge about 22 inches long.  It has helped with starting and dimming of the lights.  Would upgrading the power cables, and starter cables result in a good result as well?

Edit to add a picture.  Btw, the power to solenoid is 4 gauge, and the starter cable appears to be 2 gauge.  while the alternator charge wire is something tiny, like 16 or 14 gauge.

I think one of the best (smartest?) upgrades you can do to an old Bullnose truck is to replace all the ground cables, and clean/lube/oil every bolt and connection to keep the rust at bay.
