I'm not assuming anything. But I'm happy to take his help.
My expectation has been that I'll print on an overhead slide sheet and cut that with my wife's rotary fabric cutter. But I'm open to other ways of doing it. I find that my ways of doing things aren't always the best, so I'm learning to be willing to explore other ways.

Olfa cutters and a self healing mat are a great WTG.
Maybe Steve's labelwriter is fancy enough to do that. I should look at the models he mentioned before I go doubting.

At this point, it would be more annoying NOT to send them to you. Some are printed on white, because I think you'll prefer its diffusing properties (less of a bright spot in the middle); but there are some on clear. Start with the ones that are on the verge of being too small, cut them to fit, and then try a different coloring & finishing technique on each one until you get the effect you like. Then consider doing it for real to a set that you might keep. I'd simply stick a label to the sticky side of some colored taillight repair tape (maybe a few layers to get the color & richness you want), then put a layer of invisible (matte-finish) Scotch tape on top, followed by black marker (to make the words & color disappear when not lit). Fold the far edge of the Scotch tape over so you can peel it off if you don't like it, and try again. If you need another set, or if you want to change the font or size or spacing or words into icons, let me know. |

WOW!!!!
That's cool! Thank you very much! Having said that, it may be a bit before I get to try them. Janey and I are "disappearing" to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and won't "reappear" for a few days. And I've not even started disassembling Big Blue, much less re-assembling. But, I do have a spare bezel I can use to try the various approaches, so will try a few when I can and post some pics. Thanks again!

This company has been on eBay since 2006.
Alloy Boltz says they will build custom kits and offers a wide variety. Here's the their basic listing of Ford engine kits https://alloyboltz.com/automotive-kits/engine-bolt-kits/ford-engine-kits/ I know how you are about fastener documentation Gary. Surely you can get something going with this little family business.

Well, I had something going at one time with Totally Stainless, a family business. But they dropped the ball a year ago. Maybe I should kick it back into their court?
Anyway, I do want to get an EFI kit going.

LOL! No, I'm not moonlighting. But their website does have a lot of info. Unfortunately I didn't seen anything for EFI'd 460's. So I sent them a note asking if they have.

What I was suggesting is measuring the intake, valve cover and front dress bolts from Huck and sending them that info.
Explain that the oil pan, water pump and timing case bolts remain the same. Check the exhaust manifold lengths and mention you're not using headers. They -like they explain in the first paragraph- can make up a set for you and offer it to others as a 7.5 EFI kit.

BTW, the 460 nomenclature went away with carburetors.
Just like the 302 became the 5.0l, the world took a small step towards putting this arcane measurement system to rest, where it belongs.

Apparently I'm going to have to measure everything and work with someone to create a kit. Here's the response I got:

They have specs for 429/460.
The pan, timing case and water pump didn't change. Did you read what I wrote?

Yes, I did read it. And by "everything" I meant what you said to measure: My only issue is having disassembled Huck it'll take some sleuthing to pull together the right baggies that have those bolts. (They are squirreled away in the big totes like you shipped me.) But, I need to get that going as Bill wants either a full set or at least the top-end set for Darth's new engine. So, I need to clean off the work table and get back to Big Blue's transformation!!

Sorry.
I misunderstood. I tend to take things very literally.

I wasn't very ..... clear.
But the "front dress" is what is giving me pause. I think I did a good job of labeling those baggies, but that's been a bit. I think I took the jar of fasteners that some kind soul sent me and paired them up with the fasteners off Huck, labeled them, and filed them away. I THINK. But the crucial ones are the water pump and timing cover bolts. So if they didn't change from 460 to 7.5l then I could just do them. But it would be nice to at least include the plenum and valve cover bolts. I'd gotten almost done with spec'ing things out with Totally Stainless and the machinist, old than me, took a vacation and we kinda lost where we were. But, I think I can resurrect things with them easily, so that's what I'm going to attempt to do. And for my own benefit, here's what I find that we've said about them: Totally Stainless thread

Ok, Janey is in a humongous quilt store, so I'm sitting in Starbucks with Cafe Verona, tablet, and credit card in hand. I'm dangereous!
Called Totally Stainless. They remembered me and we are going to nail down the last bits of the kit, but not 'til I can find the unusual bolts in question and ship them to them. That way the dimensions issue that hung us up last time will be theirs to figure out. And, that will give me time to see if I want to do the front dress as well. Next was Sky Offroad Designs. And this happened: So, with $1000 approved by the finance manager, and having spent $2.25 for the Verona, I think I'll wait for a bit to spend my last $2.50.
