According to paper they are almost identical.
The standard 5.8L 2V motor used a different cam from the 5.8L 4V H.O. motor:
Ford 5.8L (2V) cam:
260/260 seat to seat duration
.416 intake valve lift, .416 exhaust valve lift
114 degrees lobe separation
The 5.0L (2V) cam is even worse:
.184 intake, .192 exhaust @ .050
.379 intake valve lift, .395 exhaust valve lift
107 degrees lobe separation
