7.3 PSD in a Bullnose?

RenoHuskerDu
My son is putting a Bully front clip on a 97 Aeronose F350 with 7.3 PSD. The Spartacus build thread here.

That got me to wondering ... Has anyone of us put a 7.3 PSD in a Bullnose? That would be cool. I believe I saw a 7.3 Bronco once on GoolagTube, but don't recall its nose, as it were... Surely it was not a Bronco frame! The 7.3 would pretzel it.
Reno in Central Texas, 86 F250 XLT Lariat eclb 2wd 6.9, plus 2 Bricknoses, 1 Aeronose that's getting a Bullnose front clip, and parts trucks. Busy lads, father and sons wrenchers.

I have run across 7.3 PSD engine swaps on some of the diesel forums (into Bull and Brick trucks) but they are rare because of the complexity of the wire harness and computer swap. I don’t have a link off hand but I will see if I can look one up.

As for the weight… a 7.3 PSD is not appreciably different from a 7.3 IDI with a turbo kit added. There are many instances of IDI’s being dropped into Bronco’s and F150’s without issue. Some have mentioned upgrading the front springs to a 2wd F250/350 coils, but the frame is definitely stout enough. Justin Anderson (IDI Performance) has run his 400/800 IDI bronco at the Hunting for Horsepower dirt drags and done 4 wheel burnouts. The D44 looked like it was crying for mercy but Justin has assured us would-be Bronco builders that the frame is not a limitation. Nor is the D44 unless you are talking about high power levels and racing…
