Why not?  Just why the hell not?

To me, it's just like a 4-door Bronco, or a Lightning Bronco, or a Mustang with IRS.

I agree Gary this thing makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth 🤮... but oddly enough I’ve seen a number of these built. Usually they at least have the matching mono beam D60 DRW front axle to go with it... but it has to be purely for style like the crew cab DRW’s that are slammed to the ground as low riders. From a pragmatic standpoint it does everything wrong... but you just can’t argue with style no matter how impractical it may be. I have to say that I find this hard to appreciate even on a not my cup of tea basis.
SHORT BED 4-DOOR DIESEL: 1986 F350 4x4 under construction-- 7.3 IDIT ZF5+GVOD

STRAIGHT SIX 4X4: 1981 F150 2wd to 4x4-- 300 I6 close ratio diesel T19, hydroboost brakes, Saginaw steering

BIG F: 1995 F-Superduty under construction— converting to 6.9L IDI diesel ZF5+DNE2

A guy at an engine shop gave me this same reply when were discussing what I wanted to do with my mildly built 302. I said I wasn't going to be driving it around at 5500 RPM, and his reply was "Why not?" with a sinister laugh...lol.
