Brocton, huh?
I remember that Brockton was a pretty tough area when I was a kid.
We are about 20 miles west of Beantown.
Ohio is looking like it might be a nice change. 62 years in Massachusetts is about enough!

Who remembers the Roxbury school bus riots in 74-75?

I was in 8th grade and got sent to go live in Somerville, because I had a problem with authority.
Man, it was wild!
Can you imagine getting pelted with bricks & bottles just because you're riding the bus to school?

yes brockton is a bit of a rough part of town. but i left as a four year old. visiting family through the years was always a little culture shock. we moved to vt into dairy lands and that was ideal to me then. then we moved to nashville. culture shock again!

I honestly don't know who started it.
I came from the 'toe' of Connecticut and had never encountered race riots before.
13 years old, thrown into a foster home, new school system entirely...🙃

I certainly didn't feel welcomed or quite grasp everything that was going on around me.
Had I known history was being made, I might have viewed it differently.  ðŸ¤”

Yeah, I wish that I had studied History more.

As a kid, historical events were just stories.
Now, I see how relevant historical events are.

I honestly couldn't comprehend the enormous number
of lives that bad. Een sacrificed from wars.

Life is about learning.
Learning always costs us something.

Human lives....

When I was born 60ish years ago there were 3B people on the planet.
Today there are over eight billion!

Let that sink in a bit.
One generation......

Even if we were to decimate the entire human population it would barely budge the needle.
(I'm not trying to get biblical, but I'm sure y'all know what that means)

Jim, I  absolutely do know what that implies.

I am 60-ish as well.
Didn't I see you in the delivery room at Somerville Hospital?

Oh, wait, 8th grade, you said.
I remember the cobblestone streets.

There was cobblestone all over back then.
Cambridge, Boston proper, lots of the little side streets still had it.

Do you remember when the Hancock tower was raining windows on Copley(?) Plaza?
!!!

Thankfully people didn't die.

I sure do remember the windows s-show!
My dad worked at USAIR, (Allegheny back then), so we were on the Mass Pike quite a bit.
