1980 F-100 manual door lock slider

I've not been able to find information on or figure out how to get the manual door lock slider mechanism on or off with out breaking it.

Could someone provide a link or information on how to accomplish this.

That will help when I possibly convert it to that style.  The 80-81 1/2 or 82 have a plastic piece in the door panel that is used to lock and unlock the door.
